FRIENDS OF VICTORIA PARK - Leamington Spa
Friends of Victoria Park are a group of volunteers who work to improve the park and its facilities for the enjoyment of everyone in the local community.
We believe that Victoria Park is a hugely valuable green open space that should be protected and improved for a wide range of visitors.
As a formal, not-for-profit community organisation, we help our local authorities use park funds in line with park user priorities.
2022 - Improved Facilities - New Challenges
...NOW OPEN - brand new £350k Play Area funded by Warwick District Council with much input from the Friends and offering new and exciting equipment for toddlers to teens. Installation starts after Easter

...Many new infrastructure improvements well underway - refurbished toilets, new signs, resurfaced paths, cycle racks...
...Hosting the Commonwealth Games bowls events will bring colour, drama and prestige but also challenges. The Friends are playing a major role in ensuring continuing access to the people's park. The Planning Committee have instructed the Council "to take into account the timescales tabled by Friends of Victoria Park". Major closure plans have been squeezed from 3 months to 7 weeks to about 4 weeks
WHO WE ARE
We are local residents and park users who originally came together informally to protect Victoria Park from excessive vehicle parking - a protection role that has continued until the present day.
More recently, as a formal organisation, we have worked hard to understand the preferences of the thousands of visitors who come to Victoria Park and to ensure that this knowledge guides our local authorities in their planning.
Our 8-strong Executive Committee includes 6 parents (3 grandparents), 3 users of VP Tennis, 2 dog walkers, a park cyclist and a skateboarder, so we hope to be covering most of the key interests of Victoria Park users.
